vCISO services UAE

Key Takeaways:

  • Wattlecorp: A governance-first vCISO with UAE regulatory alignment, listed first because this is our blog.
  • CPX: On-demand executive cyber leadership with an Abu Dhabi address and board-ready direction.
  • Crowe UAE: A vCISO service, pitched as an extension of your internal team.
  • Intello: A vCISO covering strategy, risk governance, and board reporting, from Dubai.
  • Nathan Labs Advisory: Virtual CISO services for the USA and UAE, with a Dubai Marina office.
  • Nexdigm UAE: CISO as a Service that can coordinate specialist teams and third-party risk.
  • SecComply: Lists vCISO as a Service, with a named vCISO and an enterprise category.

Picture a large UAE group whose chief information security officer (CISO) has just resigned, with a board meeting six weeks away. Someone has to own cyber risk in that room.

I work at Wattlecorp, which is listed first among these vCISO services in the UAE. The rest are in alphabetical order. A virtual CISO (vCISO) is an outsourced security leader, who works for you part-time or on a retainer. I’d treat a vCISO as cover for a vacancy, an owner for one regulated workstream or an independent voice for the board, not as a replacement for a group CISO. That is how vCISO for large enterprises tends to work best.

How to Evaluate a vCISO Partner in the UAE

These are the questions I would put to any provider on this page, us included.

  • Name the person. Get the vCISO’s name, a monthly time commitment in writing and a named backup for leave.
  • Settle who signs risk decisions. A vCISO, who can only advise, leaves accountability with you, so decide who accepts risk, who reports to the board, and who can say no to a launch.
  • Define the quarterly output. Look for a risk register, a roadmap, a board pack, and an audit calendar, not a promise of “ongoing support”.
  • Separate advice from sales. If the same firm sells penetration testing, a managed security operations centre (SOC), or compliance tooling, ask how the vCISO’s recommendations stay independent of that pipeline.
  • Ask which of your regulators they have worked with. Ask for frameworks they have taken a client through to audit.
  • Agree the exit. Check handover of documents, access and open actions, and the notice period.

If the provider also runs a managed SOC, ask where it sits, and who is on call. If it tests, ask for a sample report and the retest terms.

Types of vCISO Services in the UAE

Four broad kinds of providers sell vCISO services in the UAE. Audit and advisory firms add a CISO service to a wider professional services offer. Cybersecurity groups with managed services bring operations and testing under one contract.

Regional governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) specialists build the programme and the audit evidence. Testing-led boutiques start from vulnerability findings and work upward to governance. Match the type to the gap you are filling.

How We Chose These vCISO Services

Each company here publicly sells a vCISO or CISO as a Service offer for UAE organisations and says so on its own site. I kept those with UAE presence evident on their own sites, and left out companies whose vCISO pages I could not open or that serve only small businesses.

Wattlecorp is first as a disclosed placement, and the others follow alphabetically. Every competitor fact comes from the company’s own website, read in October 2026, and no company paid for inclusion or was asked about it. Large-enterprise fit is hard to judge from public pages, so ask every provider directly, us included.

How We Assess This: A claim appears only if the company’s own page says it, and each is checked against a quote from that page. Where a page is silent, the table says so. Facts are as of October 2026.

1. Wattlecorp

Wattlecorp’s UAE virtual CISO page is published under the name Wattlecorp Cyber Risk Management Services LLC.

Our UAE page lists CISO-as-a-Service, with executive-level leadership aligned to UAE regulatory and governance expectations. It also lists compliance and risk management, which strives to align with UAE regulation such as the UAE Personal Data Protection Law (UAE PDPL) through a governance, risk and compliance framework, and vCISO-governed vulnerability assessment and penetration testing (VAPT). Board-level communication is a stated capability.

The page says the engagement follows a structured governance framework of executive oversight, risk management, and regulatory alignment. It names a security posture assessment, a compliance and risk gap analysis, strategic roadmap development, ongoing governance oversight, and continuous compliance alignment. It describes the offer as aimed at SMBs (small-to-medium-sized businesses), and organisations with specific compliance requirements, with a model that scales by size, complexity and regulatory exposure.

We have also taken a manufacturing company through a six-stage ISO/IEC 27001 engagement, from identifying gaps to preparing for the audit. That was an information security management system build, not a vCISO retainer. Gap assessment, asset risk mapping, and audit preparation carry over, while the case study does not describe ongoing leadership or board reporting.

Shortlist us if you want a governance-first vCISO tied to UAE regulation and ask how the scaling works for a group with several entities.

2. CPX

A vCISO and trusted advisory service sits on CPX’s website, with an Abu Dhabi address in Mohamed Bin Zayed City.

The page describes on-demand executive cybersecurity leadership to guide strategy, manage risk, and drive transformation, with structured oversight and board-ready direction. Its listed activities include cyber strategy and roadmap, governance and risk management, and compliance oversight with audit support. Executive-ready reporting is listed as a benefit.

A good match for buyers, who want advisory leadership from a provider whose site also lists red teaming and managed extended detection and response (MXDR).

3. Crowe UAE

Crowe UAE publishes a vCISO service that it says gives expert security leadership without the cost and commitment of a full-time CISO. On its UAE site, the firm cites a national presence to complement its global reach.

The news page on the service says its vCISOs develop tailored security strategies, assess risks, ensure compliance and strengthen security posture. It describes them working as an extension of the client’s internal team and lists incident response planning.

Buyers who want a vCISO that sits alongside their own security team will find that framing on Crowe UAE’s page.

4. Intello

Dubai is Intello’s base: its site describes managed SOC and GRC consulting from there since 2003, alongside vCISO services.

The vCISO page says the service covers strategy, risk governance, policies, and board reporting. It refers to regulatory requirements, including what it calls UAE IA Standards and NESA, and the process it publishes includes stakeholder discovery and a security program assessment. Engagement shapes range from full program development to board-level representation.

Intello appears suited to enterprises that want a published process and a provider that also runs a managed SOC.

5. Nathan Labs Advisory

With an office at Marina Plaza in Dubai Marina, Nathan Labs Advisory lists virtual CISO services for the USA and UAE.

The page describes a team that implements cybersecurity programs, defines security strategies, establishes compliance governance, carries out threat analysis, and revises policy. It says vCISO services are adaptable for small and medium-sized enterprises and large corporations, and calls the service flexible and on-demand.

One to consider when your UAE entity sits inside a group that also needs US coverage.

6. Nexdigm UAE

Nexdigm UAE lists CISO as a Service, and its site also lists a Cyber Resiliency Service (Virtual CISO Office).

The page says the service can cover leading and coordinating information security specialist teams, reviewing vendor contracts, managing third-party security risk, and driving compliance readiness. It also offers access to advisers with regional and global experience. The same site lists corporate tax advisory and compliance services.

Buyers who already work with Nexdigm on corporate tax may find a single advisory relationship convenient.

7. SecComply

SecComply says it serves organisations across Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, and the UAE free zones, listing vCISO services for companies in these regions.

Its CISO Advisory group lists CISO Office as a Service, vCISO as a Service, and vCISO Resourcing. The vCISO as a Service line is described as bringing on a virtual CISO, who runs your security program day to day. Its UAE page describes a named vCISO, who can own decisions, report to the board, and direct the delivery work, and an Enterprise category lists programme-level governance across every business unit and vendor.

SecComply appears best suited to enterprises that want a named leader with decision rights over a multi-unit programme.

Which vCISO Services in the UAE Should You Shortlist?

Start from the gap, then read the page of whoever matches it. If you want a named leader with decision rights, SecComply’s page describes one. If you want advisory leadership alongside red teaming and MXDR, CPX’s site also lists red teaming and MXDR, and if a managed SOC should come from the same provider, Intello lists one.

If US coverage matters, Nathan Labs Advisory lists the USA and UAE. If the service should come from a wider advisory firm, Nexdigm UAE’s site lists corporate tax advisory services too, and Crowe UAE’s page frames the vCISO as an extension of your own team.

At Wattlecorp, our UAE page names a posture assessment, gap analysis, a roadmap, and governance oversight as the work. Whoever you choose, put the six questions above in writing and compare the answers side by side.

If you want to see how we would answer them for your group, read about our virtual CISO services in the UAE or our cyber risk and compliance consulting. For the build-or-buy question, vCISO vs CISO covers it.

vCISO Services UAE FAQs

1. What are vCISO services?

vCISO services give an organisation an outsourced security leader on a part-time or retainer basis. The leader sets strategy, runs risk and compliance work, and reports to executives or the board, without a full-time hire.

2. What does a vCISO service include in the UAE?

A vCISO service in the UAE ties the security programme to local rules. Wattlecorp’s UAE page lists a security posture assessment, a compliance and risk gap analysis, a strategic roadmap, and ongoing governance oversight. Its compliance work strives to align with the UAE PDPL.

Intello’s page names UAE IA Standards and NESA among the regulatory requirements it covers. Scope depends on the contract, so check who holds decision rights and which UAE requirements are in it before you sign.

3. Can AI replace a CISO?

No. A CISO carries accountability for risk decisions and answers to the board. A software cannot hold that role. AI tools can speed up evidence collection and reporting, but a named person still has to own the decision.
